WINDOWS OF OUR HOME - 2. Pealehele

Narva artists have created a good tradition to inaugurate an exhibition on April 21 that is devoted to The International Day of Partner Cities. Exposition "Windows of Our Home - 2" resulted as more complete, having a consistent conception with a wide variety of expressive means.

Windows of our homes open the panorama (V.Lantsova), a modest city motive (Å. Stepanova); an expressive geometry of modern construction volumes (V.Titov). Reflections on the glass, splitting up and getting one over the other break into the real world of the easily recognized Narva streets (A.Romanov).

Still life works on the window are full of joyful existence, freshness and cleanliness of spring air after the rain (Å.Kuznetsova); feeling of strength and tightness of ripe plants (Sh.Aliev), modest spell of a bunch of field flowers (V.Gridniv).

You can read letters by the window (variant of a well known motive of the monumental and deeply austere in colors work by V.Lantsova). Windows uncover (hide?) a sad parting scene (Î.Loginova) and the complexity of the common life of so many different people who are pressed and placed in a restricted space by their life circumstances (V.Kuznetsov).

Windows can show an inner world of the artist, who is free from intellectual sense and who is sensitively reacting on subconscious processes.

Only an intent gaze will perceive a man standing by the window deep in his thoughts. His face is hardly seen because of his feelings that you can almost physically feel yourself (B.Uvarov).

A traveler can see the surrounding world from the coach window (train? car?). Cities float by in the lifeboat - float (draw?) towards you, enticing and alluring by the enigma of the unexplored (Î.Tyurina).

Houses in the city bend to the earth as trees bend in the fields, bow down with the burden of unavoidable changes of the modern life - and get upright again. Only one thing is always constant - the light of home (your own?), that gives you warmth and joy.

Only a "window to space" by A. Partel is a kind of an ironical remark.

Anne Pärtel

Narva artists of photography have a special place at the exhibition. Photos by I.Kivimae are precise and elegant as ever in their compositional decision. V.Boltushin shows photos poetically depicting Kreenholm architecture; he attracts our attention to a serious problem of our city - preservation of architectural monuments.

Thus, the artists invite you again to stroll in a new, not known before world where you can see something miraculous during your meditative contemplation.
