76 works of Estonian 18 – 21 century artists are exhibited: the unique complex of western – european and russian defence architecture, Krenholm island of mid. 18th century and a market of 20th century beginning; the streets of Narva’s 17th century baroque, architecture monuments and contemporary town views…
Each picture has it’s own story. The picture of Narva view alone (K. Liimand, 1937) had to draw tourists’ attention in Paris, the other picture reflects a vague feeling of ruins, which will be caused by war. The third picture was returned by the descendants of a man, who stole it and took to Germany, but then decided to return it to Narva museum.
The diversity of creative manner of works promises to provide any visitor with joy of contemplation.
What about the artists? Supposedly, this exhibition will become a 1st step of collecting masterpieces and creating a diverse image of Narva.
