Blacksmith's festival „Baroque Smithery“

The Northern Yard opens its season with the event “Baroque smithery 2010”. Blacksmiths from Estonia, Russia and Nordic Counties will share their experience, heat the iron and forge right in front of you during these three days. Visitors will be given a chance to forge a nail.

Every year there was something forged for the museum. Last year it was forged fence, this year they will make a number of forged door hinges. Later, these hinges will be exhibited in an exhibition.

And of course blacksmiths will compete against each other by choosing blacksmith among themselves, who's candlestick is the best (most beautiful, most innovative, most professional, etc.). You can see these candlesticks only in exhibition that will be held in Northern Yard during these days. Candlestick that will get most points from visitors will get a special prize.
