Event overview

We invite you to spend an evening by the model of Old Narva and embark on a journey through a city that has disappeared, yet continues to live on in memories, paintings, and museum stories.

In the dim light of the gallery, the guide will gradually illuminate individual quarters, streets, churches, and residential buildings with a flashlight. The beam of light will become a unique guide through pre-war Narva, following streets once familiar to its residents, lingering on the façades of historic buildings, peering into courtyards, and helping visitors imagine what the city looked like many decades ago.

We will discover Narva as it was known to previous generations: a city of narrow streets, elegant stone houses, church towers, and cozy courtyards.

The story continues among works from the Narva Museum collection. Paintings and historic city views will bring us closer to this vanished world, revealing not only its architecture but also the people who once lived among these streets and buildings.

Gradually, through individual buildings, images, and personal stories, a portrait of Old Narva will emerge, a city that no longer exists, yet remains an important part of Narva’s collective memory.

This evening will be more than just a guided tour. It will be a quiet encounter with a lost city, whose streets will reappear from the darkness in the glow of a flashlight.
