WOMEN’S CIRCLE: Textile Workshop “Spring Threads”(RUS)
Event overview
To mark International Women’s Day, Narva Museum has prepared a special gift — the creative textile workshop “Spring Threads”, taking place at the Narva Museum Art Gallery (Vestervalli 21).
On March 8 at 15:00 we invite mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and granddaughters to a hands-on workshop. In today’s fast-paced life, we sew and embroider less and less. Meetings like this help preserve the connection between generations and pass the warmth of handmade craft on to daughters and granddaughters. During the workshop, participants will create textile brooches and pendants, inspired by the well-known fabrics of the Kreenholm Manufacturing Company.
The technical details and the charm of textile patterns will be introduced by artist Natalya Kapaeva, who worked as a designer at the Narva Kreenholm Manufacturing Company and created more than 300 textile designs. For the past 20 years, Natalya has led the NGO Club Patchwork Plus, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience in patchwork techniques with everyone interested. She is a member of the Estonian Patchwork Society and the Vestervalli artists’ association.
This cosy, multi-generational workshop will offer a chance to create together, share memories, and keep family traditions alive.
The event will be held in Russian.
Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required.
The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme.
Textiles are an important part of our cultural heritage, and the Erasmus+ project “FABRIC” focuses on museum practices that support its preservation and transmission.
