15.08.2020 10:00 / Narva castle

Event overview

On 15 August, Narva Museum once again invites everyone to Narva Castle for the traditional historical festival 'The Battle of Narva', at which you will hear the boom of cannons from the Great Northern War and the sounds of the 1704 battle between the Swedish and Russian forces for the city of Narva.

The festival, which takes place on the grounds of Narva Castle, faithfully recalls the events of the Great Northern War more than 300 years ago – Russian and Swedish commands will be heard and clouds of gunpowder will float in the air as the two armies fight for every square foot of land with guns and cannons. In addition to the battle, the festival will host exciting family events throughout the day. Children can play games that demand both strength and strategy, while young soldiers will experience recruitment and military exercises dating back 300 years.
