I have visited hundreds of castles throughout the world but this one makes you feel you awe, perhaps is the feeling that it lies between 2 countries but it's not only that I guess maybe it's the history of many battles that took place there....More

Place with a medieval feeling. Russia right next to the castle. Medieval market at the castle yard was excellent!

I cannot write this review only for the castle but the whole package and by that I mean also the scene and surroundings around the castle, especially the fortress on the Russian side of the river. You get a fantastic view when you start walking...More

Stunning architecture of fortifications as East meets West. The Narva Castle was built in the 14th Century to guard the Narva River and has its counterpart (although much bigger ) on the Russian side. The virtual border between the two countries lies in the mid-stream....More

review rating 4  Great castle with a stunning view over the river Narva on the castle on the Russian side. We didnt go inside the museum but walked around outside which was for free and enjoyable for the entire family.

review rating 5  You've got to appreciate how the local people are looking after this historical site. The building is quite stunning, with lots to explore, see and interact with. What they have done in the North Courtyard is really neat, with hands on things to do and fun craft stuff to look at and buy. Great for kids and adults, although be prepared for a lot of climbing. Most signs had an English translation although not everything did.

review rating 5  Awesome museum. It's situated on the border and facing the Russian stronghold of Ivangorod. Great views, interesting pieces of history and delicious food at their restaurant. A must see in Narva.

review rating 4  Interesting overall. They try to fill in the space as best they can. Lots of up and down. I liked the medieval feel of the courtyard and stalls. Surprisingly, I even liked the beer. The views make it worth your while.
