Excursion in Narva-Jõesuu – The Story of a Retro Resort and Escape from the City Hustle

Starting from May 2025, Narva Museum invites residents and guests of Estonia to an engaging excursion through the charming resort town of Narva-Jõesuu – a unique gem on the Baltic coast, home to the longest sandy beach in Estonia, where natural beauty, tranquility, and rich cultural heritage come together.

Sometimes, you just want to press pause, take a deep breath, and stroll through a place where time seems to slow down. Nestled by the Baltic Sea, Narva-Jõesuu is the perfect spot to unwind, recharge, and simply be present in the moment.

We'll wander down narrow streets, peek at historic wooden villas, listen to stories carried by the sea breeze, and share fascinating facts about the development of the resort. You'll learn what ailments were treated in the famous spa and mud therapy clinics, admire the landscapes that inspired renowned artists and writers, and dive into the Soviet-era sanatorium culture, once considered a true luxury escape.

Narva-Jõesuu has long been celebrated for its sandy beaches, pine forests, and healing sea air. It’s a destination people return to again and again – for peace, inspiration, and soulful rest.

This tour is perfect for first-time visitors as well as long-time fans of the resort who wish to see the town from a new perspective.
