Event overview
Summer—the long-awaited time for vacations, relaxation, and warmth! Specifically for the summer season, Narva Museum has developed educational and entertaining programs and workshops that take place outdoors in the amazing atmosphere of a cozy medieval setting.
Children's Group Programs:
Craftsmen's School
- Minimum group size: 10 participants, Maximum: 20
- Age range: 5-13 years
- Duration: 1 hour
- Cost: €4 per participant
- Suitable for: summer camps, interest groups, large families
- Location: Northern Courtyard of the Castle, dress according to weather conditions.
In the Northern Courtyard of Narva Castle, where the spirit of the Middle Ages is preserved and each stone has its own story, participants will be introduced to the secrets of ancient crafts. They will learn about the arduous manual labor of potters, blacksmiths, leatherworkers, and apothecaries. Activities include grinding grain with a millstone, exploring blacksmithing tools, and learning about medicinal herbs. Enriched with knowledge, participants will then apply what they've learned to create their own unique craft item.
Park Program

- Age range: 7-14 years
- Duration: 1 hour
- Cost: €4 per participant

- Location: Outdoors, dress according to weather conditions.
This engaging museum program takes place outdoors in the EV100 park, supporting the "Liikuma kutsuv kool" movement school. Children will learn about the incredible diversity of plants in the park: mighty oaks, delicate apricot trees, slender birches, aromatic medicinal herbs, various conifers, and incredible flowers of different shapes and shades! As they travel through the park, young biologists will study the structure of some plants, learn the essential elements of creating a Japanese garden, and discover which plant gave the park its name.
Quest
- For groups from 3 to 15 people
- Age range: 6-10 years
- Duration: 1 hour
- Cost: €10 per participant, minimum €50
- Suitable for: children's groups, interest groups, children's birthdays
- Location: Castle and Northern Courtyard, dress according to weather conditions.
Want to explore the castle while engaging in exciting tasks? Like to learn history and make interesting discoveries with friends? Then the "Quest" program is for you! Accompanied by a guide, kids will explore the castle and Northern Courtyard, play games, and solve the mysteries of the castle halls. A pleasant surprise awaits diligent explorers at the end of the program.
Herman's Workshop
- Minimum group size: 10 participants, Maximum: 20
- Age range: 6 - 106 years
- Duration: 30 mins
- Cost: €3/5 (depending on the selected souvenir)
- Suitable for: summer camps, interest groups, children’s birthdays, family leisure, enjoyable times with friends or colleagues.
- Location: Herman's Workshop in the atmospheric Northern Courtyard of Narva Castle. Under the guidance of skilled craftsmen, you can create unique souvenirs for yourself or as gifts.
Workshop options: leather bracelets, keychains, wax candles, wooden magnets and brooches, marzipan figures, salt body scrubs, and more.
Custom-themed workshops are available to suit your group’s needs.
Additional Facilities: The cozy café "Maitsepaik" in the Northern Courtyard offers a wide selection of sweet and savory treats that perfectly complement any chosen program. Special group catering menus are also available upon request.
