Event overview

Easter is perhaps the brightest spring festival, familiar to us from childhood! In Estonia, there is an opportunity to celebrate it twice: with the Lutherans and with the Orthodox.

We invite you to the lecture "Between Two Easters," dedicated to a festival of universal significance! During the lecture, we will delve into the rich history of this event, examine the unique features of the iconography of Christ's Resurrection in Eastern Christian tradition and in Western European art, and learn why the traditions of celebrating Easter have changed over time. The lecture will reveal the secrets of symbols associated with this festival. We will also discuss customs related to Easter in different countries and touch on the remarkable diversity of art dedicated to this event.

The lecture supports the theme of cultural diversity.

Lecturer – Yulia Khlystun, a research associate at Narva Museum.
The lecture will be in Russian.
