Event overview

The lecture "Periodical Press in Narva During the War of Liberation 1918-1920" (in Russian) discusses how newspapers, alongside leaflets, were the most widespread and effective means of propaganda during the Estonian War of Liberation years. From the lecture, we will learn about the newspapers that were published in Narva during this period and in which languages. COVID-19 restrictions have fundamentally changed our way of life. Last year, the Narva Museum, following the global trend of distance learning, embarked on a bold experiment with a series of virtual lectures. Thanks to this new format, all interested individuals were able to listen to the lecture series and participate in discussions without leaving their homes.

During the pandemic, the Narva Museum has established itself as a major center for informal education for a wide audience. This year, it also aims to satisfy people's thirst for knowledge by offering new opportunities. Starting from February, lectures will be held at least twice a month on Thursdays. Lectures take place both in-person and via Zoom. The lectures will be accompanied by slide translations and supplementary materials, which participants can receive on-site.
